Fuelling better lives at sea with strong supplier network

Date: 02 December 2022

This autumn, we’ve been very busy travelling around the world to meet with a number of our key suppliers – all an essential part of how we build a strong network of suppliers across the globe to ensure safe, consistent and high-quality deliveries to vessels.

"We work with our suppliers daily and whilst we have a robust approval procedure to ensure a high standard, we also visit their operations to see first-hand the quality and service they provide to our customers, " says Lewis Denham, Supplier Relationship Manager, UK.

This autumn, we’ve visited key suppliers in Norway, Brazil and Korea, where our Supplier Relationship Manager from Manila, Chris Vincent Bernado took a moment to enjoy the beautiful view in Busan.

Setting high standards for food safety quality

Our Supplier Relationship Management team ensures that we offer our customers the highest quality products and best possible value for money. Our supplier network is a core part of what we do; the team works with suppliers to ensure that we only purchase from the most reliable suppliers globally, setting high standards for food safety quality.

For many years, we’ve partnered with NSF International in developing a Garrets global food safety quality standard to ensure safe, consistent and high-quality supplies to our customers.

Provisions and stores management

We aim for a better life at sea, which includes easy access to fresh provisions and high-quality stores at fair prices. Giving the captain and crew ease of mind and ease of doing business, allows them to focus on running and maintaining the vessel operations on board.

We serve vessels with provisions and stores under budget management agreements, serving over 35,000 seafarers every day while securing compliance with the vessels’ expenditures through breakthrough technology.
