Date: 25 June 2026

Every year on 25 June, the maritime industry comes together to celebrate the Day of the Seafarer, recognizing the vital contribution seafarers to global trade and supply chain continuity, often while spending extended periods of time away from home and loved ones.
For 2026, the IMO campaign spotlights the risks and sacrifices behind the seafarers’ central role to the movement of goods around the world – often a contribution out of sight, while facing difficult and sometimes dangerous conditions.
To mark the occasion, Garrets is expressing its appreciation to crews on board vessels in their management care. In collaboration with suppliers from Garrets’ own global supply network of accredited suppliers, treats will be distributed to vessels worldwide as a small gesture of thanks to the men and women serving at sea.
"Day of the Seafarer is an important opportunity to acknowledge the people at the heart of the maritime industry," says Hamish Cook, Managing Director at Garrets International. "In collaboration with our suppliers, we are pleased to extend this gesture of appreciation to crews around the world and thank them for their invaluable dedication, professionalism and resilience."
While modest in scale, the initiative is intended to bring a moment of recognition and appreciation to seafarers as they carry out their essential work at sea.
Garrets extends its sincere thanks to all participating suppliers and, most importantly, to seafarers around the world.
Happy Day of the Seafarer 2026!
