ISWAN Copenhagen 2016

The International Seafarers' Welfare and Assistance Network (ISWAN) is holding a seminar on seafarers' health, to look at health issues affecting seafarers, and to explore how organisations can work together to reduce this on board. Delegates from shipping companies, maritime unions and welfare organisations are invited to attend and of course Garrets will attend at this year's ISWAN event in Copenhagen 10 November 2016.

Garrets' Global Operational Support Manager Chris Little will present various point of views in terms of seafarers' health. The agenda covers topics such as health concerns at sea, the mental wellbeing of seafarers, and diet and nutrition on board, which all are main topics in Garrets everyday as well. Chris Little will enlighten all attendees with the points below: 

  • Importance of Training Chief Cooks on nutrition, healthy eating and menu composition
  • Nutrition and Direct links to mental wellbeing, performance and health
